Horizon Homes Inc. has been building award-winning homes in the Triangle since 1978. Under the leadership of John P. Berent, Horizon has developed communities in Raleigh, Cary and Morrisville, winning three Parade of Homes awards for its innovative designs.  John’s awards also include the Mayor’s ‘Award for Excellence’ for the company’s community in Cary.

With John’s 30 years’ experience in planning, design and construction, homeowners can rest assured that a home built by Horizon Homes is built to last. The company builds homes with an eye toward superlative craftsmanship and energy-conscious designs that incorporate “green concepts” into the construction process. At The Villas at Old Mill Village, the company has also added a subtle European design to its homes.

Horizon Homes is truly central to the Berent family. John’s sister  Elaine and daughter Kristin also work at the company. Berent and his wife BJ, a teacher in Chapel Hill, have four adult children. John’s personal interests include classic muscle cars, riding his Harley Davidson and gourmet cooking.
